2025-2026 EVENTS AND HOLIDAYS
EVENTS
Students will be notified whether the events will be live and in-person, or virtual. All events in 2025-2026 are TBA until further notice.
The following details from the previous year are included on this page as an example of events typically held during the school year.
Fall Festival
The Fall Festival theme will be wide-ranging and will include seasonal nature and fun, and Halloween. All instruments and instrumental combinations are welcome. Students will perform live, before an audience. Fee: $15.00.
Winter Festival
The Winter Festival theme will include seasonal nature, winter merriment, and Christmas and Hanukah. All instruments and instrumental combinations are welcome. Fee: $15.00.
Studio Evaluations
Late February to March, 2026
May occur online, by recording, or in-person per the Judge’s discretion. This is an evaluation of Blue Skies Piano students by a judge selected by the Teacher. A special fee may be assessed.
Theory Examinations Maryland State MTA
March 10-April, 2026
May be in-person at a testing center. Also may be online at the students’ homes, administered by parents and teacher. Standardized testing under the auspices of the Maryland State Music Teachers Association, for Levels Prep through 7 of music theory. Fee $15.00.
High School Piano Exams
Time and Location TBD
Usually in May
National Guild Auditions
May or June 2026
May occur online, by recording, or live in-person, per the Guild’s future direction. Time to be chosen by student and teacher within the day and time frame allotted to each teaching studio by the Guild, then assigned by the Teacher on a first-come-first-served basis. Fee is determined by the number and level of pieces.
Blue Skies Piano Spring Recital
This is a public recital, so feel free to invite all who are interested to hear students of Blue Skies Piano perform their Guild, original, and evaluation pieces. Students will be recognized for their Guild achievements, music awards they have received this year, and any other accomplishments. All instruments and instrumental combinations are welcome. Fee: $15.00.
HOLIDAYS
Tuition does not include the following holidays and teacher vacation days when the studio will be closed. Tuition includes one “flex day” per student that the teacher will use for personal emergencies, previously unannounced attendance at music conferences, and other unexpected events.
